I don't normally read books regarding vampires. I love a good ghost story but vampires are a little too far out there for me. When I realized that one of the main characters in this series was a vampire, I almost stopped reading. I am so glad I didn't. I enjoyed this series thoroughly and found it very hard to put down. As a history buff, the flash backs to some of the most tragic but little discussed times in our history were a bonus to the story. The main characters demonstrated their love and devotion to each other throughout all three books. I bought the boxed set which made the price more than reasonable. My favorite novels involve a Victorian mansion and a ghost. Here I found both subjects with a handsome vampire thrown in for good measure. I would recomment this book.Product details

WOW for 99 cents you get 3 books so I bought them never have read anything by this author before! But MAN OH MAN This series was awesome!!!!! It was kinda dragging in places, but all in all it was awesome. Very appropriate for ALL AGES. GREAT Job!
This set of stories has no equal. Love adventure history and awesome characters made this seventy one year old cry and laugh a feel a gamut of things not indescribable and don't miss all three of them. I thank and the writer for a wonderful book experience. Love gita Stuyvesant. At faceebook
It was way too repetitive and somewhat boring. The history was interesting but I certainly would NOT call it paranormal romance! More like a long history lesson! It was extremely disappointing and not worth the read!!
I was pleasingly surprised how Meredith Allard included the amount of American history as she did in this trilogy. Being part native America and also having Japanese Americans as relatives the author's books had great personal meaning to me. I have referred this group of books to my family members. Thank you Ms Allard for bringing some of these atrocities to light.
Could have been a great story. The second book definitely has a twist that you don't see coming, and the author invokes the right tone with it. Throughout all three books, there are great plot lines that are never developed well, or perhaps are not written well. As a result, the reader has to be incredibly gullible or naive enough to look past the story holes and to be invested in the story.

I absolutely feel the author had a really good premise for this trilogy but I often found myself skimming through unnecessary passages that couldn't hold my attention and inevitably wishing for the end. I happen to be the type of person who feels it is against my religion to not finish a book, even one I'm not thrilled with. There was a lot of good history in the series so if that butters your bread you may like these books. Just not for me....
