I finished Humanize Your Brand fascinated by the way that Jessica Ann was able to share so many insights and practical tips in a relatively slim, easy-to-read volume.

Jessica Ann, @itsjessicann, is a prolific content creator for top-drawer brands like SAP and publications like the Content Marketing Institute, the Huffington Post, and the Marketing Insider Group. In Humanize Your Brand, she concisely shows content marketers how to use mindful awareness to create content that will resonate with their market.

Humanize Your Brain contains 25 chapters. Each focuses on a single idea or insight, introduced by a quotation or a one-sentence summary. The chapters are often short, but always fully develop the idea from both an attitude and implementation approach. My favorite is Chapter 7, Write From Your Core. In her words, "When you write from your core, you become more human. You rise to the next level of social media--the place where serendipity, exploration, and expansion collide. You start getting real."

In a world of "click-bait titles," I found it refreshing to read ideas expressed so clearly from a personal point of view. In a following chapter, she writes "Make your blog the truest expression of you. When you summon the strength to define yourself, you stand out and stay strong in your beliefs. This shines a light on your perspective so that you can attract the right types of humans who appreciate your insights."

Humanize Your Brand also introduced me to the concepts of Fast Media and Slow Media. In Chapter 16, she identifies Fast Media and the bad habits it encourages. Chapter 17, The 7 E's of Slow Media," shares tips for cultivating an alternative approach.

Note the only reason I didn't post a 5 star review is that, as I finished Humanize Your Brand, I was left with the desire for more. Hopefully, Humanize Your Brand will be just the first of a series of books from Jessica Ann.
Jessica is a true artist, thinker, and philosopher. She writes in a unique way that’s full of soul. If you want to be inspired, pick up a copy today. You won’t want to put it down!
Jessica Ann is part muse, part travel guide into the immersive world of humanizing content. This is a must read for any brand, marketer, or small business owner that's looking to break free of the oppressive mold of yesterday's advertising and into the future of authenticity and not holding back!
In a world of bland corporate speak and brands that feel more like robots, Jessica Ann has a refreshing take on how to humanize any brand, no matter the size of the organization or what product or service you sell. Reading this book felt like chatting with Jessica over coffee. She not only gives you strategies for how to humanize your brand, she demonstrates it in every page of her book.
There are many take aways from this tome. Jessica writes from the heart and we are both the wiser and better at our jobs because of it. Not every bit of advice clicks but be prepared to make e notes in the margins for those amazing nuggets of gold that can change the your approach to branding.
Entrepreneur or not, this is an insightful read. Presented in a conversational tone, it's an honest and refreshing guide towards taking that next leap in business and life. Social media provides us a forum to, essentially, be anyone we want to be. Jessica reminds us that "keeping it real" is always best. Our products, our stories, and ideas should be a reflection of ourselves and Jessica reminds us how to present those things successfully -- how to connect and relate to colleague or customer.

In particular, I appreciated her section on minimalism as I too, deeply strive to live with less! It's easy to become overwhelmed by -- or even find safety in -- more "things." When we do that, we allow ourselves to let the "things" shape our identities.

If I were to choose one word to describe Jessica's book, it would be 'quality.' From the birth of an idea, through its development and presentation, Jessica reminds us how critical that singular word is. She has, without a doubt, utilized it in her writing. Excellent read!
I've been a fan of Jessica's work for a long time and glad she wrote this book to share her expertise. In a fast moving world of social media and constant messages coming at us, Jessica describes how to stand out to the audience that matters to you by being human, vulnerable, candid, funny and authentic. She gives great examples from her own experience and shows how this approach to content creation will give you and your business an advantage.

It is a quick read and I highlighted a lot of passages to go back to as great nuggets of wisdom.
